English summary: This book On the Aesthetics of the Provisional ('Zur Asthetik des Vorlaufigen), offers a synopsis of presentations about two thematically related and interdisciplinary events in cooperation with the cultural institutions of Salzburg. The symposium Sketch-Draft-Sample, which took place in 2011 in the former Salzburg Baroque Museum in the Mirabell Garden, which accommodated the conference as the site where the Rossacher Collection was on display and served as the focal point of the studies, as the displayed paintings were only later completed. Related to aspects of art history, the articles access a variety of themes of the provisional character and preliminaries of art as well as looking at these themes in music, dance, literature, and theater. These texts are accompanied by other points of view, of course. Since the provisional moves in passing, a symposium called Thresholds was held in 2012 in the Residence Gallery in Salzburg, which was concerned with the issues of change and the movements between traditions, creative freedom and nebulous gray areas.
