As a result of the YouTube platform, people began creating video sharing websites where they could upload, share, and view videos. A billion people now watch YouTube videos, including educators and scholars. There is a small amount of evidence that YouTube has been researched and written about in academic literature, but little is known about YouTube research priorities.
