As a young male I took risks, which I wouldn't take now. In my teens and twenties, I seemed to have been oblivious to the fact that life is a fragile gift and death is permanent. I was just like my friends and sincerely did not have a death wish. Rather, I had a keen sense of optimism and an eager desire for adventure.
