Joe Feinberg grew up in Chicago. After attending college for two years, he entered officer candidate school and served overseas in combat in the Korean war, just barely missing being another casualty of the Chosin reservoir battle. Upon leaving active service he continued in the reserves. He became a city planner, married his wife Dorothy, and had four children. As recounted in this book, Joe's life has been filled with adventure and sometimes peril.
