This United States Army manual, Training Circular TC 8-13 Tactical Hospital Infrastructure February 2021, impacts all facets of the Army Health System through the utilization of tactical hospitalization capabilities. The scope of this manual is to provide the basic infrastructure recommendations for the complexing of a tactical hospital in order to provide Role 3 support. The mission requirements will determine the necessary configurations. This training circular's content ranges from planning, module complexing and deployment to the setup and operation of medical materiel sets (MMSs), dental equipment sets (DESs), and nonmedical equipment. A Role 3 hospital facility will be responsible for operational medical capabilities that provide definitive patient care while retaining responsiveness to combat units. This manual is designed to serve as a supplement to the equipment-specific publications that are issued with each equipment system.
