HE critical condition of the Turkish Empire in Asia may render interesting a short account of the various mixed populations - Moslem, Christian, and J ewish - which are mingled together, in Asia Minor. Syria, and Arabia, under Turkish rule, and of the changes slowly occurring during the last forty years in their relative position. The Armenians especially attract notice for the moment, but the discontent of subject population is not confined to that unfortunate race, or indeed to Christians only.
