John Knox was a Scottish clergyman who helped lead the Reformation to the church in Scotland. Knox was ordained as a Catholic priest in 1536. After being taken as a prisoner by French forces, Knox was exiled to England in 1549 and would later lead the Reformation in Scotland after serving as a royal chaplain in the Church of England.
