When the rookie captain of the Zulu 656 begins to act erratically, the veteran crew becomes suspicious. But after an enemy fleet ambushes and destroys the task force they were escorting, the crew is left to piece together the captain's background and true intentions while being hunted in a massive debris field. Their fears grow after a mysterious virus begins locking them out of their computer terminals, leaving them at the mercy of the captain's programming skills as the enemy closes in on their position. With the fate of the ship on the line, the crew must decide whether they believe the captain can save them -- or if he's the one behind their peril.
