When Adam Salton travels from halfway around the world away to visit his aging relative, Richard Salton, he suddenly finds himself in a peculiar situation. A strange woman, Ms. Marsh, seems to making her way around the various estates to gather what she will. Stranger still, the mongoose the Adam has purchased to deal with all the serpents in the area wildly goes to attack her.
