The Heart of Asha is a collection of short poems written about my feelings and experiences over the course of seven years. I was inspired to write by food, nature, and my relationships. Included are poems written to promote conversation(s) about the significance of identity and poems written to better understand love, a word which I use frequently and an emotion that I feel deeply. I thought that in asking the question, what is love's intent, I would learn what love is. In this instance, love is given incrementally in the form of Power, Restoration, Patience, Liberation, and Expression.
