After a daring escape from Sycan's clutches, Adwen has been injured in ways her warriors can only begin to grasp. She is weakened while the enemy grows stronger, preparing an army to strike at the heart of Dargadia. Unable to remove the implanted dark sliver, they must press on in spite of adversity. Adwen must resist the darkness from within as well as without and battle unrelenting grief. Continuing to defend the five kingdoms, try as she might to carry on, one fact remains; with her essence polluted, she cannot win. As impossible as it seems to purify herself, the one leading the demon army can only be slain with the Gray Blade, a weapon lost to time itself.
