To most people, Dr. James Kildare was a TV character played by Richard Chamberlain (191
episodes, 1961-1966), but Dr. Kildare had a much richer history. The original character was created and written by none other than the famous western writer Max Brand, and appeared in short stories, novels, radio, films and comic strips from the 1930s-on. The 1960s TV series has become the most famous, the tales of a young surgeon and his mentor, and is the version on which the comic series is based.
Unfortunately issues #8 and 9 of the comic book series are not in the public domain so they could not be included in this collection.
