When I was a child, I prayed to God making sure my hands were clasped together and looking up to the sky. I thought that was how to pray. If I needed a quick response or I felt desperate, I would shed some tears and be extra pitiful. I really thought that pitiful posture would cause God to move. I believed God would move on my emotions. I always came up short. Years passed before I realized what I could do with God's Word and some faith. Can you imagine if children are taught at a young age how to really pray? Think how effective and powerful their prayer lives will be as adults!
