Written by Pierpaolo Maglio, a well—known and talented model maker as well as the author of numerous publications, this book tells in great detail the important story of one of the most famous Departments of the Italian Air Force: the 102nd Group. The 102nd Group was formed in Lonate Pozzolo (VA) on 1 May 1942, equipped with the Stuka dive bombers, supplied by Germany. The Group was able to distinguish itself throughout the Second World War, first with the Stuka and then with the Re. 2002. At the armistice the war continued in the south, with the Regia Aeronautica, alongside the Allies. The 102nd Group was for years one of the pillars of the Air Force, in fact when it was stationed in Rimini it was one of the departments entrusted with the nuclear strike, well described in this book. Today the 102nd Group is based in Ghedi (BS), framed in the 6th Wing, it is the OCU department of the Italian Air Force for the Tornado line.
