It thus provides an actual poverty profile of the Brazilian population with focus on its racial dimension. The thesis is based on large cross-sectional household survey data, the Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD) data sets, and applies best practice techniques of distributional analysis to micro-data.
