Pieces of Eight, Part II is a collection of eight novellas that complement the eight stories that appear in Pieces of Eight. The selections are a blend of different short story and novella plots and themes. "A Noble Experiment" and "Inspiration for All" are of the science fiction variety. "Obadiah Bush, Gene Alter and Branche Sawyer" represents futuristic humor and time traveling. "Dual Events" explores a reincarnation/revenge theme. "Loyalty to Duty" involves an astrological prophecy fulfillment plot. "A Day to Forget" concerns itself with psychological drama, "Death and Taxes" is a horror-oriented drama, and "July 4th, 2076" is a futuristic sci/fi/adventure/drama. "Dual Events" takes place in Bermuda, where the author and his wife have vacationed. Other settings are "the Delmarva peninsula for "Death and Taxes," Hammonton, New Jersey for "Inspiration for All" and "Obadiah Bush, Gene Alter and Branche Sawyer," Colorado's Rocky Mountains for "July 4th, 2076," and Atlantic City for "A Day to Forget."
