The book addresses the main petrographic and chemical characteristics of marbles and associated rocks (amphibolites, granitoids, and escarnites) in the Italva region, northwest of the state of Rio de Janeiro. In addition, it provides information about market applications, such as in the cement industry, agriculture, and the use of gemological minerals, such as the rare occurrence of blue escapolite.
