A young woman is missing, but has she run away - or been captured?
A dying cop asks DCI Christine Caplan to investigate a cold case that's still preying on her mind. The naked body of a man found in a remote wood, dismissed as a down and out by her superiors. Caplan connects the case to other victims left to die in Scotland's Dark Skies forests, injured and unable to escape. When the trail leads from the down and outs to the hunt for the missing woman, the cold cases seem suddenly dangerously hot.
