Nerd At The Cool Table follows Jamaal "Maal" Johnson as he goes through life at Lakeside Highschool. He deals with everything a normal teenage boy deals with, but he also deals with the struggles that all black kids deal with. He must learn how to be true to himself while pleasing those around him. He doesn't fit in because of the color of his skin, but he's smart enough to overcome those obstacles.
