After a decade off from recording,
Jimmy Giuffre
returned for this little-known set. The music is moody, fairly spontaneous, and melodic, but often wandering and rather insubstantial.

triples on clarinet, tenor and flute and is joined by bassist
Kiyoshi Tokunaga
and drummer
Randy Kaye
for a dozen of his concise originals. None of the songs clock in over 5:37, and although they form a sort of suite, the overall results are not too memorable. ~ Scott Yanow
