I was born on January 10, 1951, in Tabuk, formerly a municipality of Mountain Province. This sleepy town has morphed into a large metropolis and is now a city and the provincial capital of Kalinga in the northern Philippines.
My father, Simeon Rosete, Sr., was a literature evangelist. He would be away for weeks at a time doing his work as a colporteur, selling books that promoted healthful living and the way to Christ and His salvation. His territory included the vast region of the Cagayan Valley, Pangasinan, and the Ilocos provinces.
My mother, Jovita Padingil, taught church school in Tabuk until the children came along. She was a woman of strong character, and her influence made its mark on all of us kids.
Dominador, the oldest, served as an operating room nurse at the Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida, the largest Seventh-day Adventist hospital in the world. He is married to the former Vivian Realin, who worked as a nurse supervisor in the same hospital.
