In Mario and the Squirrel Named Jimmy, young Mario is captivated by the wildlife around his home in Holmdel. His favorite visitor is a light-brown squirrel named Jimmy, who becomes more than just a daily companion. To Mario's amazement, he can talk to Jimmy-a magical bond no one else believes. When Mario tries sharing his mom's treasured almonds, Jimmy impulsively takes the whole jar. Heartbroken, Mario fears he's lost both the almonds and his friendship. But Jimmy, sensing his friend's sadness, returns the jar. Through forgiveness, Mario learns that true friendship endures, founded on compassion and understanding.
