This word is a recent addition to the English language and refers to the ages between nine and twelve. It is recent because it didnt exist as a distinctive age in the past: we went from childhood, to teenage-hood, and then adulthood. For the purposes of clarity, this book refers to children between the ages of nine to fourteen and is about helping todays children grow into well-balanced adults within this exciting yet perplexing world.
