Megan McDonald is a popular, charismatic senior in high school with a bright furure. She is kidnapped during one of her last nights in Emerson Bay and held for two weeks until she escaped. She is forever known as the girl who was taken. That same evening, Nicole Cutty disappeared and was never heard from again. Megan is trying to lead a normal life. She doesn't remember a lot, but she longs to know what happened during her captivity. Livia, Nicole's older sister, is practicing forensic medicine in Raleigh, close to Emerson Bay. She still feels guilty about not answering a call from Nicole the night she disappeared. Livia and Megan are destined to meet to try and discover what happened to Nicole.
