Between 1965 and 1971, Morrison composed a hundred songs, wrote and edited four books of poems, made three films, and filled several notebooks with notes and poems. He was an icon and the great American rock star. He lived fast and died young and, as the front man of the Doors, created songs that still have the strange power to attract each new class of students with his dark messages and raw energy.
