This is a true story of a man, his dream, and the perfect timing of money, teamwork, and influence, to create -on a grand scale- interest, tourism, and preservation throughout the White Mountains of New Hampshire. At the turn of the 20th Century, there was one man, a native of New Hampshire, who had the means and the desire to create what he would later call his "Monument", The Mount Washington Hotel, and to advance the tourism interests of the state he loved. His name was Joseph Stickney.
