Audrey Miller isn’t thrilled about moving to a new town or starting eighth grade at a new school. Things start looking up when she meets Ryan, a wide receiver on the school’s football team. Audrey loves playing football and decides to join the team. But the other boys on the team only see her as a girl, not a football player. And not only are they mean to her, but they're cruel to Ryan as well.
