The second book in the Canadian Province geologic history focuses on the Archean, Proterozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic Eras of Quebec and Ontario's geologic history. Quebec's geologic history presents the Superior Province and associated structural deformation, metamorphism, paleo-topography, and collisional accretionary processes. The Ungava Orogeny discussion includes tectonic elements, and tectonostratigraphic elements of the domains with the terrane as they relate to the Superior Province. The Grenville Province is next, addressing the framework, the Grenville Front, and tectonic zones and allochthonous terranes within Quebec including plutonic and intrusive activities. The Appalachian Allochthon and par-autochthon are presented in terms of the Paleozoic Humber and Dunnage Zones, provenance and depositional environments, paleogeography and tectonics in Part I. The section ends with a presentation of the St. Lawrence Platform and estuary system. Part II addresses the geology of the Ontario Province's Superior, Grenville, and Quaternary Period of glaciation. Most sedimentary cover was removed from the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic Periods by late glaciation. The contents were extracted from the Geological Survey of Canada proffesional papers, modified to enhance the figures and simplify the text presentation. Ontario's geology was extracted from the Ontario's Ministry of Northern Development and Mines RockOn series.
