Cathy’s younger brother has just accepted a new job in Scotland, but one of the conditions of employment is that he must be married. Cathy agrees to play the role of newlywed in front of his employer to help him out. On her drive to Scotland, she meets a man named Ross, and the two of them are strongly attracted to one another, as if by fate. Cathy spends the night with him at a hotel, but when she wakes up the next morning, Ross is gone. When she sees him again, it’s not a happy reunion—it turns out that he’s the owner of the hotel where Cathy’s brother works. Now Ross thinks she’s a liar and a cheat, and when he sees her, his eyes fill with contempt!
