Roma, circa 100 B.C.A Roman prisoner of war is forced against his will to become entertainment for the masses in the well-known slave turned gladiator tale. However, for this hero the struggle begins long before he enters the arena. The battlefield he encounters is not of sand and swords, but of the mind and the dark places in it. He must decide in the time he has left how he is to conduct himself as he comes to terms with his mortality. Whether, when stared through the eyes and into the soul by the Grim Reaper he shall turn away terrified, or stand his ground and stare back.
