Developing Competent Teachers aims to explore the implications of different ways of thinking about the professional competences of teachers. It does so through case studies of competence frameworks used in a number of teacher education contexts – and, for comparative insights, in social work, nursing and police training. The intended readership is all involved in teacher education: in particular, Higher Education tutors; mentors and senior staff in schools.
