This novel is a fictional account of a few possible, realistic results of growing up in a broken home. Daddy’s Girl begins with the lead character, (Michael) Dominique Brown, pursuing her dream of opening a restaurant and club. On opening night, all is well, she even meets what seems to be the man of her dreams, Recardo Bennett. Her life takes a turn the following day when her sister, Anita, calls to inform her that their estranged father, Michael D Brown, is stricken with cancer. The story continues with looks into Dominique’s past and the circumstances that made her into the woman she is. Although she is a woman of faith, there were issues that she had not turned over to God. Now she is in a position where her beliefs, sanity, and character are tested.
