This document proposes a decision rationale based on the real criteria for choosing the vertical dimension of therapeutic occlusion. The purpose of this work was to study the parameters to take into account during an increase in DVO, to study the clinical methodology of this increase and to propose a chronology of systematized reconstruction, highlighting the importance of transitional phases and advanced diagnostic tools. For these purposes a range of clinical situations with detailed therapeutic approaches were exposed, for two cases we chose the composite prosthesis for the rehabilitation of a loss of posterior wedging associated with a dentoskeletal typology of class II and class III, an overall aesthetic and functional rehabilitation by the prosthesis fixed in a case of bruxism and at the end we presented a new concept the CLC5 used for the restoration of generalized wear by adhesive techniques. This concept is based on a progressive and non-invasive approach offering patients an optimal solution.
