Ba El Shebub's Magic awakens to do what it was created to do; safe mankind from itself. After five thousand years, the 'Magic' chooses two youngsters --eleven-year-old Aarvid and his nine-year-old sister Mona-- to become its future wielders. With their training started, Aarvid and Mona must depend on their resilience, courage, and resourcefulness to survive the challenges that await them. Separated by two realms --with Mona in the world of man and Aarvid in the 'Magic Realm' while traveling into Eastern Europe on the back of a swan-- they find support by working together and by enlisting others. Aarvid discovers that use of the 'Magic' exacts a toll in more ways than one. Mona discovers an inner strength that allows her to see people for what they are, During this part of his adventurous journey, Aarvid finds himself physically and mentally changed by the 'Magic' as he battles and manipulates monstrous creatures, and Russian mobsters while learning about the Holocaust and other more current critical issues. Mona's journey finds her facing-off with the powerful and dangerous Mephistopheles and using her 'Magic Ring' to assist her brother. Her life is turned upside down as well. During this dangerous and painful process of discovery and self-learning the two youngsters prove their mettle at the expense of those that challenge them.
