Clarissa Crane has a sharp and biting tongue. She is constantly picking at her best friend, Leah Lamb. Leah takes Clarissa's insults to heart, but never speaks back. Instead, she swallows it all and feels inadequate around Clarissa. Leah moves slower than Clarissa and has trouble remembering things. Mostly because Clarissa makes Leah feel small and insignificant.
