Most communities in the United States have at least two places where strangers can start a conversation: bars and churches. Dean and Mindy Anderson decided to visit one of each in every state to get some answers about the state of the Union, the state of the Church, and what makes a good bar. They spent most of 2016 driving (and sometimes sleeping in) their aging minivan as they tried to complete their self-appointed quest as their money ran out.
