The vicious confrontation between USA and China has developed over much of the last decade since 2016 into a tense, vexatious, dangerous, dramatic and longstanding confrontation between the two superpowers.Many strange things have happened in this terrible US-China confrontation, and many blunders were made by both sides.But the military buildup, arms race, and the military confrontation across a wide range of issues and over wide geographic areas are the most dangerous of all.Has US miscalculated by creating now two new war fronts in Europe and in Asia, after its Afghan debacle that ended only in 2022?Clearly, storm clouds are gathering over the Indo-Pacific. The worst is yet to come.The new approach that needs to be taken by both USA and China is obvious. They need to start by winding down the toxic rhetoric against each other.They should then abandon their fierce confrontation, trade wars, technology wars, and economic wars, and dial down their massive military buildups, and follow up with sensible dialogue and reconciliation.The future of humankind and the world depend on these two greatest superpowers doing that.
