This is the story of three brothers growing up in the foothills of east central Vermont in the 1950s and 60s when the sun was setting on the old farming way of life. Against the backdrop of the Cold War, Sputnik, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Scott, Alec, and Duncan find their way to manhood as they explore their rural valley, work in the fields and on the farms, make friends, seek adventure, and most of all, experience the love of family.
