This volume represents one in a series of releases that preserve the Boston Symphony Orchestra concerts originally broadcast on national television in the 1950s, thanks to the efforts of its musical director at the time, Charles Munch (1861-1968). The set contains two Johannes Brahms pieces mounted by the BSO at Harvard's Sanders Theatre: Symphony No. 1 in C Minor, Op. 68 (October 31, 1961) and Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73.
