Modern society is not insular but a mixed cultural entity. Some, especially old and especially backed by wealthy narrow-minded individuals, live in a different sphere and try to create a different society, not compatible with today's world. In this novel, it creates conflict in that person's family. His own son, as he moved in a different layer of the circle, planned opposite to his liking. Politics is a nasty game; it does not care what happens to people after electing candidates. This novel describes how a doctor gets caught in the crossfire of this plot with a catastrophic outcome.
