Janice Chapman returned from Thailand to finish her vindictive ways in Canada. She is arrested for the murder of Anthony Petrolli. Peter Rowe, for a reason not completely understood by him, defends her. Peter faces an inexperienced lawyer. This combined with the fact that the police were over zealous in arresting her results in her getting off. Neither of them understands what motivated her to seek revenge and do what she did as much as they try. In trying to figure it out, they delve deep into her psyche looking for a reason - any reason, but can't find one. Whatever came over her seems to take a back seat to her recovery and other more pressing issues. They fall in love. Meanwhile, the social activist movement, the Orange Shirts, beckons her to return to Thailand. Will Janice finally fulfill a need and find what she is looking for?
