Inside Perkasie's story of survival and growth are the experiences of former cigar makers who faced challenges and overcame them in difficult times. The book also includes details about the events leading up to Perkasie's recognition as a village in July 1871. R. Scott Bomboy is a journalist and historian who has written frequently about America's past. Bomboy holds degrees in History from the Pennsylvania State University and Arizona State University. He is currently writing the second book in this series and a detailed history of Bucks County's covered bridges.
