Out of options, and money, unemployed journalist Mimi Rosen goes to work for her father's gem company in New York City's Diamond District, though the two don't always get along. When Mimi's diamond-dealer cousin Yosef is murdered, seemingly over a $4 million pink diamond, Mimi discovers that the stone is key to a scandal involving bribery and murder, which may even implicate members of her own family.
