In adulthood, the struggle continues with the same themes. Abuse, shame, hope, desire, fear, anger, manipulation, divorce, and holding onto the idea that things can still get better. Learning to love yourself, respect yourself, and demand respect from others changes the game. Sometimes walking away is the hardest, best, most punishing, and most rewarding option.
