Women in History

This book provides information about women's contributions throughout history from over 175 countries around the world. Its goal is to furnish information about the achievements that women have made over the years so that they can take pride in the accomplishments of their gender. The contributions cover a broad range of fields including writing (books and poetry), medicine (nurse and doctor), education, science (mathematics, botany, astronomy, chemistry, physics, etc.), law, social reform (especially women's suffrage), inventing, business, religion, politics (queens, presidents, ambassadors, etc.), sports (Olympics), aviation, and space. The information is arranged by region and alphabetically by country. Each entry contains the woman's name, key dates together with biographical information about her achievements and recognition or awards. Many of these women were first in their country to receive recognition in their fields.
