琼瑶，原名陈喆，一九三八年生于四川成都，出身于书香门第。一九四九年，随父陈致平由大陆到台湾生活，开始写作生涯，随后进入电影、电视剧制作行业。
Qiong Yao, originally named Chen Zhe, was born in Chengdu, Sichuan in 1938 and came from a scholarly family. In 1949, she followed her father Chen Zhiping from mainland China to Taiwan to start her writing career, and later entered the film and television production industry.
琼瑶十六岁时以心如为笔名发表小说《云影》，二十五岁时出版了第一部小说《窗外》。多年来，笔耕不辍，代表作有《烟雨濛濛》《还珠格格》《一帘幽梦》《庭院深深》等，并有多部经典作品被改编为电影、电视剧，影响至深，成为一代人的青春回忆。
At the age of sixteen, Qiong Yao published the novel ""Cloud Shadow"" under the pen name ""Xinru"", and at the age of twenty-five, she published her first novel ""Outside the Window"". For many years, she has been tirelessly writing, with representative works such as ""Whispers Of Misty Rain"", ""My Fair Princess"", ""Fantasies Behind The Pearly Curtain"", ""Deep In The Courtyard"", etc. Many of her classic works have also been adapted into movies and TV dramas, which have had a profound impact and become memories of a generation's youth.
