Based on the sample and official reports from four police stations in Kitwe, Zambia, this paper sought to determine the factors that contribute to the withdrawal of wife battery cases at police stations by victims. The paper concludes that socioeconomic factors such as unemployment and lack of personal income were the major contributing factors to the withdrawal of wife battery cases. Further, victims withdrew cases due to psychosocial factors such as love in addition to the socio-cultural factors such as family intervention. The institutional factors that contributed to the withdrawal of cases included the conduct of the police officers.
