In With Lee in Virginia, Vincent Wingfield fights in General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia, for the Confederate States of America, even though he is against slavery. Vincent is wounded several time and taken prisoner twice, and on two separate occasions saves slaves from even worse treatment than they would have received without his help.
