On the central coast of California lies the pristine town of Westfalia. The village is on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in the world. It is like an ancient Mediterranean jewel that has been transported to the Pacific. Only the most wealthy and well-known people can afford to live in Westfalia. Those who support Westfalia with their labor can only afford to live in the neighboring town of Raleigh.
While the residents of Westfalia might be rich and famous, they are human and are susceptible to any of the world's ills. Some of the most respected members of the community have issues; rebellious children who use drugs and have dangerous sex, affairs that destroy relationships, greed that has ruined marriages. Like anywhere else Westfalians are human.
But unlike anywhere else there is more going on in Westfalia than meets the eye. Is this referring to the fact that Westfalia has some of the best surf in the world, attracting some of the greatest surfers, or that the beaches are lined with some of the most beautiful bodies on the planet? While it is true that the area has many of these physical attributes, there is something more. There seems to be an alternate world that is working in tandem with the physical. Some call it "Westfalian Magic". It is as if you can feel a breeze winding through the city; healing all that ails its inhabitants.
You would have to say there was some kind of magic in the works for it would seem impossible for some of the citizens to overcome what they have encountered; broken relationships, destroyed marriages and even death. But even with some of these great problems, many of the Westfalians have been healed. And for some, despite their lost loves, they have regained their faith and hope in something greater and that they can have love and be loved again.
