When Dr. Penny Mc Donald retired from life as an English teacher and principal, she dreamed of writing bilingual childrenís picture books. Now as a volunteer teaching English in Latin America, she works on her Spanish and seeks inspiration for her books. This book comes out of trips to Costa Rica. We Share our World is for: Kids and their families. This includes honoring parents and grandparents whose native language is Spanish. Some may not be entirely comfortable with their own English but can encourage literacy by reading in Spanish. The book also honors parents everywhere who want their children to have the gift of growing up bilingual. It can be read in English, Spanish or both. School people.
